Manufacturing Technician 12 month contract
(Day shift : 7.30 am – 3.20 pm) or (Afternoon Shift : 3.00pm – 10:50pm)
We have a number of positions available on a 12 month contract at our Parkville vaccine manufacturing facility in Melbourne. Depending on our future manufacturing plans, we anticipate opportunities will be available for the right candidates beyond this initial 12 month period within the manufacturing production team. We would welcome recent graduates, or graduates completing their degree in 2024 to apply.
Position summary
To assist in the implementation of production plans for the timely and cost-effective production of Animal Health products.
Responsibilities
- Meet Environment Health and Safety requirements by adhering to safe operations
- Achieve production targets by performing all production activities including but not limited to:
- Solution preparations
- Plant and equipment cleaning and sterilization
- Monitoring of cultures in small & large scale bio-reactors
- Processing of culture broths including separation and clarification
- Downstream processing of bacterial antigens including ultrafiltration and microfiltration
- Bacterial seed work
- Aseptic manipulations
- Cleaning and sanitation of fermentation suites & support areas
- Vaccine formulation
- Filling operations
- Packaging operations
- Performing general departmental duties including but not limited to:
- QC samples to the lab
- Maintenance of stock of laboratory reagents
- Plant checks
- Environmental monitoring
- Participating and assisting in Process Improvement projects
- Achieve Bacterial Vaccines finance targets to ensure profitable operations
- Meet Quality and GMP requirements
Education and experience
- Tertiary qualification in Science, Engineering or related discipline is highly desirable. Recent graduates or those graduating in 2024 are encouraged to apply.
- Knowledge of cGMP regulations and Quality Management Systems
- Large scale manufacturing experience working in fermentation, downstream processing and aseptic operations is desirable
- Ability to maintain attention to detail with minimal errors
- Problem solve with interpersonal and organisational skills
- Flexible and adaptable to change and collaborative team player
- Double vaccinated with Covid – 19
