Description
The purpose of this field-based position is to provide scientific and technical support to our customers on health, productivity, and disease control of swine farms. The person in role is required to work closely with Account Managers (AM), fellow technical and regulator colleagues as well as Key opinion leaders, using their veterinary expertise to support the delivery of sales growth and market share gains.
This is a field-based role, meaning that you will be working closely with the veterinarians and the swine producers, at their locations. You will be using your skills and background in the swine industry to make sure our products are introduced, implemented, and used correctly.
This role ensures that our scientific resources and technical activities create and deliver unparalleled value to our customers. It’s a major differentiator, creating a competitive advantage and contributing to the growth of our business.
Core Responsibilities
Planning
- Align activities to the AMs account plans, to relevant marketing programs and to management direction and strategy
- Plan and implement the Key Opinion Leaders (KOL) management activities, including KOLs identification and aligning annual plans for active KOLs in line with the region, KOL Management guidelines and specific brand team direction.
- Manage time effectively to allow for Business Unit support.
Relationships
- Work with the AM to deliver bespoke customer solutions utilising all available resources, including value-added services.
- Develop mutually beneficial long-term partnerships with our customers based on veterinary expertise, respect & reputation,
- Offer support, training, and coaching to AMs and colleagues in the business unit who share your expertise and add value to our customers.
- Assist veterinary practices and end users in understanding the benefits for practice and customer of our products and services.
Customer activities
- Grow the customer’s product usage using technical and business knowledge. Deliver programs that improve animal health and productivity.
- Maintain customer relationships by having 75% of working time as field days.
- Use data to identify opportunities and tailor our programs to customer needs.
- Provide the agreed standard of technical support to our customers. Respond to customer queries and complaints quickly and effectively.
- Undertake field support whenever required.
- Support specific customers in association with AMs to provide a constant flow of information to the customer.
- Propose phase 3b/4 studies where necessary and support study recruitment when required.
- Participate in brand cross-functional teams.
- Support the Nordic technical colleagues when required.
- Support European cluster when required.
Veterinary knowledge and expertise
- Use veterinary expertise to better inform customers of a product’s technical workings, diagnostic applications, uses and effects
- Share knowledge with AM and throughout wider business.
- Identify opportunities to use expertise to affect a commercial gain.
- Maintain a high level of expertise with the evolving portfolio of products, services, pricing and competition.
Compliance & Regulatory
- Review and approve the technical and veterinary science-related aspects of marketing materials.
- Maintain high standards of business conduct and compliance, adhering particularly to Pharmacovigilance Policy, Global vet Policy, Zoetis values, travel & expenses policy, and local codes of practice.
- Deliver technical training and coaching to AMs that are consistent and compliant with Zoetis practice. Ensure adequate understanding and knowledge transfer on products and diseases.
- Act in cooperation with AMs to keep accurate records of customer activities

- Knowledgeable– able to retain and recall technical information to a detailed level on products and diseases.
- Ability to simplify and communicate clearly on highly technical issues.

- Stakeholder management – effective at using stakeholders as resources.

- Good self-management skills in a highly hybrid role with technical, marketing and customer activity tasks
Training & Qualifications
- Degree in Veterinary Medicine (MRCVS) is required
- Certificate of specialisation in a relevant disease management area is preferred
- Current passport and valid driving license
- IT literate. Able to use standard business software and communication tools
- Vet practice experience is required
- Experience in a technical role in the animal health industry is desired
- High frequency of travel within designated regions and occasional foreign travel.
