POSITION SUMMARY
The Associate Director L&D role for LATAM (Latin America & Brazil) forms part of the international L&D team, a key function within International Commercial COE.
Reporting to the Director of L&D LATAM / International L&D Lead, the Associate Director will focus on operational management of the cluster, ensuring the alignment of the L&D function with the strategic priorities set by the Director and the International team. Main responsibilities include managing the regional L&D team across a diverse and complex business environment and delivering and deploying approved international programs that enhance the capabilities of local sales and marketing teams.
Guided by the Director of L&D LATAM this role will focus on facilitation, consulting, coaching and leading interactions with country and commercial managers, creating a learning culture and improving overall colleague skill and proficiency in country and cluster.
The ideal candidate must have commercial and learning and development experience, be familiar and have experience with sales CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), be able to work well within virtual teams and influence, interact/network on a senior commercial level with business unit directors & country leads. The candidate will lead the operational execution of L&D strategies, ensuring effective implementation across the region, and addressing tactical challenges in real-time to meet the commercial and performance goals of each country and cluster.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Team Management & Development

- Lead and develop a small team of L&D professionals, fostering a culture of operational excellence, empowerment, and accountability, while ensuring alignment with the strategic direction provided by senior leadership.
- Build a next-generation colleague bench with a robust talent plan and Individual Development Plans (IDPs) in place.
- On board, Coach and support team members.
Learning Strategy and Content Development
- Learning Strategy Development: Based on the strategic guidance from the Customer Engagement Lead, work in close partnership with the Director and senior L&D leaders to operationalize the regional L&D strategy, providing insights and feedback on tactical execution and operational challenges.
- Deploy engaging and impactful learning content, including training materials, modules, workshops, and e-learning courses focusing on omnichannel marketing and sales techniques, customer journey mapping, digital tools, and technology adoption.
Performance Evaluation and Continuous Improvement
- Performance Evaluation: oversee the implementation of performance metrics and evaluation frameworks developed by the International team to ensure continuous improvement in the operational delivery of learning programs..
- Change Management: Support change management efforts by providing guidance and support to teams as they adapt to new omnichannel strategies, processes, and technologies.
- Benchmark and Continuous Learning: Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in omnichannel marketing and sales, incorporating new insights into learning programs to ensure relevance and effectiveness..
Strategy and Execution
- Ensure the effective execution of L&D strategies developed by the International team, managing the team’s contribution to market growth objectives.
- Provide project and program management leadership through prioritizing and overseeing multiple work streams within L&D.
- Drive teamwork and collaboration within the team, markets, and across functions.
- Collaborate on developing strategies and manage execution of tactics to support assigned cluster and market growth objectives leveraging the learning and development solution portfolio and library.
- Continually ensure the appropriateness and effectiveness of ways of working, internal controls, standards, policies, and procedures.
Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration
- Foster strong operational relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring that L&D initiatives are aligned with the execution needs of the business and effectively deployed across the region.
Training Delivery and Support
- Deliver high-quality training sessions and workshops, both in-person and virtually, ensuring effective knowledge transfer and skill development across International marketing and sales teams.
Provide guidance on cluster skill gap identification and provide support and guidance on solving the gap
RESOURCES MANAGED
Financial Accountability
- Will be responsible to effectively manage the T&E and project budgets assigned to the L&D region
Supervision
- Position has 5 direct reports : Learning and development manager
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- University degree in human, educational or business science , or equivalent
- Senior sales /marketing management experience (minimum 2 years) preferred
- Learning and development experience and or certification will be an advantage
TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
- Successful track record in L&D , sales/ marketing management
- Effective People and digital tool ( LMS, CRM ,Learning experience platform) management
- At least 2 years’ experience in a senior leader role
- Success in previous roles including getting things done, creatively finding opportunities, or solving problems, with high level of integrity and ownership for the best interest of the company
- Good teamwork , influencing and partnering skills
- Ability to manage complex projects and environments
- Strategic and pragmatic thinker
- Verbal, written, presentation, interpersonal, communication skills
- High level of command and fluency in Spanish and English, Portuguese desirable
OTHER POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Position to be based in LATAM .Travel requirements approx. 30%
