The Asia Operations Lead is based in Asia and reports into the Senior Vice President of Asia Cluster. They support the SVP and the Asia Leadership Team (ALT) by driving operational excellence across Asia, coordinating strategic initiatives, and ensuring dialogue and information flows are transparent and sustained. The Lead also supports in coordinating key operational and strategic initiatives, as well as provides high-level support in the decision-making process with respect to ongoing operational matters and larger projects, including, but not limited to, new product introductions, operating planning process, operational efficiency initiatives, identification of growth levers, and review of go-to-market models.
Position Responsibilities
- Facilitates the alignment of Asia strategic objectives and operational execution, serves as thought partner, providing insights and recommendations on strategic initiatives and process design. Prepares and reviews presentations, reports, and communications.
- Serve as liaison between Asia and GMS to ensure supply in the markets.
- Enable open dialogue and information flow and foster transparent and constant communication between leaders.
- Provides information to support the leadership team on resource allocation decisions such as investment opportunities, efficiency initiatives, new product introductions, business development opportunities, market expansion, and review of go-to-market models.
- Support change management within the cluster.
- Lead process and practice initiatives to ensure consistent delivery and compliance.
- Coordinates, chairs, and supports key meetings, forums, and decision bodies participated in by the SVP of Asia and the ALT.
- Asia Leadership meetings and offsites: Coordinates and establishes the agenda for the monthly call with the ALT and other forums when necessary, addressing high-level operational decisions. Additionally, they coordinate follow-up discussions and execution activities on an as-needed basis.
- Key communication and colleague engagement forums: In conjunction with Corporate Communications, Sales Operations, and Marketing, the Operations Lead creates the agenda and supports the creation of content for key forums to engage colleagues, such as the Asia Town Hall, Cluster Sales Meeting, and other ad hoc engagements.
- Project Management of key strategic initiatives: As needed and agreed upon by the leadership team, the Operations Lead will lead and project manage key strategic initiatives. They will partner with internal and external partners to deliver clear project plans and track milestones.
- Coordinate annual financial calendar: In partnering with Finance and Marketing, the Operations Lead supports the content creation for meetings such as Monthly Finance Reviews, Quarterly Business Reviews, and the Annual Operating Plan.
- Leads key projects and initiatives cross-functionally, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget and quality standards. Identifies potential risks and develops mitigation strategies to ensure success.
Education and Experience
- Level of Education and Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree is required. An MBA or higher education is a plus.
- Excellent knowledge of commercial operations and strategy
- Professional experience/capabilities:
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience with extensive capabilities as a leader, ideally in a transformation environment with strategic or operational focus and strong business acumen in a highly matrixed environment
- Experience leading large-scale complex projects and managing teams in diverse locations.
- Financial management skills - P&L and operating budget management.
- Experience working with, leading, or managing cross-functional teams in developing and executing business strategies, programs, systems, and/or tactics.
- Proven track-record of leading teams without direct reporting lines through transformation and having instilled a strong culture of performance and enthusiasm, even in difficult times.
- Experience in managing a significant change and/or transformation across cultural and/or country boundaries
- Demonstrated track-record of operational excellence with a sharp sense of vision that translates into an ability to identify new opportunities.
- Experience in managing relations with a wide diversity of stakeholders, including (but not limited to) Commercial leaders, Enabling and Global functions, customers, and senior leaders.
- People Management:
- Significant and successful experience in managing/influencing diverse business and functional stakeholders, including Senior Leaders
- Ability to assess and provide peer-to-peer coaching and motivate teams to exceed performance standards.
- Languages: Fluency in spoken and written English is a must; mastering other languages is a plus.
- Travel: Ability to travel internationally up to 25%
