Our Veterinary Medicine Research & Development (VMRD) team is looking for a Rapid Application Developer/Engineer to play a key role in developing and implementing digital, automation, and data solutions that support scientific breakthroughs in animal health.

As a Rapid Application Developer/Engineer, you’ll work closely with scientists and technology teams to solve complex research challenges by:
✅ Designing & developing applications for efficient data capture, storage, and visualization
✅ Automating lab workflows to enhance productivity and accuracy
✅ Implementing data integration solutions to optimize research processes
✅ Leveraging industry-leading tools & technologies to support cutting-edge research
✅ Driving digital transformation through collaboration, problem-solving, and continuous innovation

This role is perfect for a creative, technically skilled individual who enjoys working in fast-paced R&D environments, applying software development, automation, and data analytics to drive scientific advancements.

🛠 Key Responsibilities

✔️ Work closely with scientists and researchers to identify data and automation challenges and develop tailored software solutions
✔️ Collaborate with Zoetis Technology & Digital (ZTD) teams to ensure compatibility, scalability, and security of applications
✔️ Rapidly design, prototype, and deploy applications to support scientific research and lab automation
✔️ Optimize data pipelines for improved data accessibility, analytics, and visualization
✔️ Stay at the forefront of emerging technologies to enhance R&D capabilities
✔️ Support change management and adoption of new tools and platforms
✔️ Maintain clear documentation of processes, applications, and integrations

🎓 Who We’re Looking For

📌 10+ years’ experience in rapid application development and/or lab automation in the life sciences industry
📌 5+ years’ experience as a lab bench scientist (preferred)
📌 Expertise in software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum)
📌 Strong background in programming languages, data architecture, and visualization tools
📌 Experience with SQL, NoSQL, Git/GitHub, Tableau, Spotfire, Power BI
📌 Familiarity with lab automation tools (e.g., Hamilton liquid handlers, Perkin-Elmer Enspire)
📌 Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills
📌 Ability to engage and influence diverse stakeholders and drive cross-functional collaboration
