Head of Portfolio Marketing (m/f/d)
for our Global Diagnostics team. Location: Griesheim, Germany
The Head of Portfolio Marketing, Global Diagnostics will lead the strategic direction and execution of the Zoetis Diagnostics product portfolio. This role is responsible for defining and driving brand strategy, product positioning, and global go-to-market execution. The leader in this role will ensure financial rigor and performance across the portfolio, managing global product P&Ls of >$400 million. They will partner cross-functionally with commercial teams to optimize product success in market. This position will be a key driver of profitable growth and market leadership for Zoetis Diagnostics.
This role will oversee global product launches, lifecycle management, and portfolio investment decisions in partnership with our Product team. They will partner with Product, R&D, sales, regional commercial teams, and finance to develop and execute portfolio marketing strategies. The leader will have clear accountability for portfolio financials, customer adoption metrics, and long-term brand equity.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Portfolio Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive portfolio marketing strategy that aligns with business goals and market needs.
- Product Lifecycle Management: Oversee new product launches, on-market product strategy, and end-of-life decisions.
- P&L Ownership: Manage product-level P&Ls, ensuring revenue growth, profitability, and financial discipline across the portfolio.
- Market Insights & Competitive Analysis: Conduct thorough market research and competitive benchmarking to drive portfolio decisions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with sales, finance, R&D, and regional marketing teams to optimize product positioning and adoption.
- Go-to-Market Excellence: Ensure marketing strategies support strong commercial execution and field force engagement.
- Innovation Pipeline: Collaborate with R&D and external partners to drive new product development aligned with business objectives.
- Customer Focus: Engage with veterinarians, distributors, and key opinion leaders to refine product strategy and maximize market impact.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Life Sciences, or related field; MBA preferred.
- Experience: 12+ years of marketing experience in the diagnostics, medical device, or animal health industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strategic Leadership: Proven ability to develop and execute global marketing strategies that drive commercial success.
- Financial Acumen: Strong experience managing product P&Ls and driving portfolio profitability.
- Analytical Skills: Data-driven mindset with experience in market analysis, forecasting, and business case development.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Ability to collaborate effectively across sales, R&D, finance, and commercial teams.
- Communication & Influence: Strong executive presence, with the ability to present complex strategies to senior leadership.
- Customer Orientation: Deep understanding of customer needs and ability to translate insights into commercial opportunities.
- Travel Requirement: Regular travel within region of hire (US or Europe) and occasional cross-continental travel as required.
