Description


To perform the day-to-day activities of specific areas related to production of vetenairy medicines.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Follow production procedures for compliant product manufacture to achieve production targets:

Production Equipment: decontamination, cleaning and preparation

Co-ordinating and managing use of production equipment

Preparation and Dispensing of Media and Solutions

Usage of liquid and air filters in production (incl. Integrity Testing)

Prepare and maintain Cell and Virus seed stocks

Perform environmental monitoring

Tissue culture and viral antigen production

Viral inactivation

Viral concentration

Vaccine formulation, dispensing, labelling/packing

Perform environmental monitoring.

Complete documentation and database entries

Identify material requirements, materials transfer, maintenance of materials supply

Equipment maintenance, preparation and operation

Disposal of waste - Production and chemical

Involvement in GMP/Housekeeping/EHS audits

Review and update BPS, SOPs

Cleaning - Aseptic Area and General

Give on-the-job training

Prepare product and samples for transport

Administrative duties

Involved in other duties as required

Meet Environment Health and Safety requirements by adhering to safe operations through

Attendance at scheduled training sessions

Awareness training

Assistance with safety audits

Timely hazard reporting

Accident and incident reporting

Housekeeping of work areas

Meet Quality and GMP requirements by:

Adherence to GMP compliance and Site Quality Management Systems

Participation in internal audits

Maintaining work areas to acceptable standards

Meet Biosecurity requirements for handling materials, equipment and tanks with importation, in-vivo or in-vitro permit conditions

The site is a GMP facility, climate & environmentally controlled, with clean and restricted areas.

Most of the daily work will be within the production areas. The incumbent will be required to wear various manufacturing suits dependent on the production activities being performed.

The attires include:

Lab coat, steel-capped safety boots, hairnet, beard snood (where applicable), and safety glasses (where signposted)

Primary gowning (for controlled area work)

Secondary gowning consisting of sterile gown, boots, mask, gloves and safety glasses/ googles (for aseptic operations)

No special clothing requirements for all office-based activities (street clothes only).

This job requires the employee to work overtime as needed.

Physical and visual activities that are commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job include manual handling such as: sitting, standing for prolonged periods of time, walking, carrying, reaching, handling as well as speaking and hearing. Specific vision abilities required for this job includes close and distance vision.

Employees must undertake a pre-employment medical prior to commencing work in the Production area.
