🌍 Your Role as Area Business Manager
As ABM, you’ll lead and inspire a team of Account Managers & Senior Account Managers. Together, you’ll deliver sales growth, expand market share, and strengthen long-term partnerships with veterinary practices, farmers, and online pharmacies.

What You Will Do
People Development
- Consistently manage team performance and development.
- Provide clear direction on strategy, goals, and expectations.
- Support your team through change, driving process improvements.
- Partner with Product Managers, L&D, and Veterinary Managers to set training priorities.
- Foster a coaching culture to grow team skills and potential.
- Ensure team management aligns with Zoetis’ values and vision.
- Encourage collaboration across business functions.
Strategic Planning & Leadership
- Cultivate a diverse, high-performing team.
- Develop innovative account strategies using market insights.
- Drive best-in-class sales execution through Solution Selling and TouchPoint analytics.
- Align account plans with marketing and leadership directives.
- Analyse customer sales data to identify opportunities and support growth.
- Conduct field visits and maintain effective area planning to achieve KPIs.
- Positively contribute to meetings by sharing best practices and demonstrating leadership.
Field Force Effectiveness
- Train, coach, and support team productivity.
- Drive top-tier sales execution and embed the Solution Selling model.
- Promote the use of TouchPoint
- Translate marketing strategies into practical sales execution.
- Collaborate with the Head of Sales Force Effectiveness to boost performance.
Relationships
- Build long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships with veterinary customers.
- Create effective networks across accounts using all available resources.
- Share input into marketing plans and contribute innovative ideas.
- Ensure efficient information flow with Commercial Operations.
- Work closely with the Head of Sales on strategy and delivery.
Compliance & Professional Conduct
- Uphold high standards of compliance and ethical conduct.
- Attain AMTRA qualification within 3 years of joining.
- Maintain accurate business and customer records.
- Manage budgets responsibly to avoid overspend.

🎓 Qualifications and Experience
- Experience in a commercial industry, ideally sales, B2B, or field-based.
- Proven success in field sales and team management.
- Animal health, pharmaceutical, or life sciences experience (desirable).
- IT literate with strong CRM and business software skills.
- Current passport and full UK driving licence.
📍 Travel Requirement – High frequency of travel within designated region and to head office in Surrey
