About the Role
We are looking for a passionate and customer-focused Zoetis Veterinary Consultant (ZVC) to join our Companion Animal (CA) business, supporting the West and Wales Region, based in Shrewsbury.
This is a field-based maternity cover role that combines veterinary expertise with commercial understanding, providing technical and scientific support to customers and colleagues across the region.
As a ZVC, you will work closely with Account Managers, Area Business Managers, and other veterinary professionals to deliver exceptional technical service, enhance animal health outcomes, and support the growth of our Companion Animal portfolio.
Your work will ensure that Zoetis continues to deliver unmatched value to our customers — a true differentiator in our industry.
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Strategy

Align activities with Account Managers’ plans, marketing programmes and company strategy.

Plan and deliver Key Opinion Leader (KOL) engagement activities, including identification, profiling and management.

Balance time effectively between Business Unit support (~20%) and Customer support (~80%).
Customer Relationships
-
Partner with Account Managers to provide bespoke solutions that utilise all available Zoetis resources.

Build and maintain long-term partnerships with veterinary customers, based on trust, expertise and collaboration.

Offer training, coaching and support to colleagues to enhance the customer experience.
Veterinary & Technical Expertise

Use your veterinary knowledge to help customers improve animal health, diagnostics and productivity.

Provide compliant, high-quality technical support and respond quickly to customer queries.

Use practice data to identify growth opportunities and tailor solutions to customer needs.

Participate in field studies, brand initiatives and cross-functional projects as required.
Compliance & Quality

Maintain high standards of business conduct, adhering to Zoetis’ Pharmacovigilance Policy, Global Vet Policy and industry codes of practice.

Deliver consistent and compliant technical training to colleagues.

Keep accurate records of customer interactions and activities.
About You
You are an experienced veterinary professional with a passion for improving animal health and building strong customer relationships. You enjoy combining your clinical expertise with commercial acumen to deliver practical, science-led solutions.

Qualifications & Experience

Degree in Veterinary Medicine (MRCVS) required.

Experience in veterinary practice essential.

Experience in a technical or commercial role within the animal health industry is desirable but not essential.

Certificate of specialisation in a relevant disease management area is advantageous.

Valid passport and UK driving licence required.

IT literate and comfortable using standard business software.
Travel Requirements

Regular travel across the West and Wales Region.

Occasional international travel may be required.
