Practice Development Account Manager – Companion Animal Team

Location: Field-based across Scotland, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Newcastle & Northern England
Business Unit:Companion Animal Team
Reporting to: Area Business Manager

About the Role

We are seeking a Practice Development Account Manager to join our Companion Animal (CA) team, covering Scotland, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Newcastle, and Northern England.

In this field-based role, you’ll manage relationships and drive sales for our innovative Virtual Recall portfolio, including iRecall® and OurVet.Shop®, while supporting the field force in delivering value and indirect sales through VetPost®, our prescription home delivery service.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated, customer-focused individual with a passion for animal health, relationship management, and commercial success.


Key Responsibilities

Planning & Sales

  • Achieve and exceed sales targets for your assigned portfolio.

  • Identify and capitalise on new sales opportunities within existing accounts through effective up-selling and cross-selling.

  • Manage and prioritise a specific customer target list for each service.

  • Align territory plans with marketing campaigns and business objectives.

  • Build effective relationships with internal teams and external partners to deliver 3rd-party-supported campaigns.

  • Manage account budgets and deliver to agreed deadlines.

Customer Relationships

  • Develop long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships with veterinary practices and key accounts.

  • Implement bespoke customer solutions and share best practice across the team.

  • Provide practice training and support to enhance engagement and performance.

  • Deliver clear, consistent communication aligned with Zoetis’ “Solution Selling” model.

Expectations

  • Lead strategic campaign implementation, enrol practices, and drive subscription rates.

  • Deliver training sessions and optimise practice engagement.

  • Measure and report on ROI for key projects and activities.

Compliance

  • Maintain high standards of ethical business conduct and compliance with Zoetis policies, including Pharmacovigilance and Global Vet Policy.

  • Ensure accurate documentation of customer interactions and activity in CRM systems.


About You

  • Proven aptitude and enthusiasm for sales.

  • Strong communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills.

  • Strategic thinker with strong territory planning ability.

  • Resilient, self-motivated, and results-driven (“terrier” style persistence).

  • Excellent organisational and project management skills.

  • Confident delivering presentations and training sessions.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Proven sales track record, ideally within the veterinary or animal health industry.

  • Degree in business, marketing, veterinary, or related field (advantageous).

  • Proficient in IT and CRM tools.

  • Full UK driving licence and valid passport required.

Travel Requirements

This is a home-based role requiring extensive travel to customer sites, clinics, and industry events across Scotland, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Newcastle, and Northern England.
