Job Purpose:


The Key Account Manager (Companion Animal) is responsible for developing and executing strategic account plans that drive growth, strengthen partnerships, and deliver value to Zoetis’ key customers across South Africa. This role plays a critical part in achieving commercial objectives by identifying opportunities, negotiating solutions, and ensuring the successful implementation of business initiatives that support the Zoetis Companion Animal portfolio.

Reporting Structure:

Business Unit Lead: Companion Animals and Equine

Location: Johannesburg

The role will require:

• Understanding of the companion animal industry, trends and landscape

• A proven delivery of sales results and customer satisfaction

• Experience with developing and adapting strategic account plans based on in-depth understanding of customers’ needs

• The ability to maintain a high level of expertise with the evolving portfolio of products, services, pricing and competition

• Work in close collaboration with key stakeholders and resources to deliver on strategic plans to the customer

• The ability to work in a matrix organization and coordinate resources/requirements effectively

• Analytical thinking, to be able to make robust decisions using sound interpretation of data, information and processes

• Bring a vitality and enthusiasm that aligns with the Zoetis Companion Animal Purpose: ‘To pioneer in animal health so that pets can live their best lives’

Training & Qualifications

• Formal qualifications in Key Account Management, Business, or Finance will be viewed favourably, reflecting the commercial scope and analytical nature of this role.

Experience;

• 3 – 5 years experience in Key Account Management, preferably within the animal health, pharmaceutical, or FMCG industry Travel Requirement

• Must have a valid drivers license and willingness to travel within South Africa
