Reporting to: Diagnostics Area Business Manager
This is a 12-month contractor role, created to cover an internal secondment.

This is a field-based, customer-facing role where your expertise, relationship-building skills, and commercial mindset will directly impact customer success, business growth, and animal health across your territory.
The Role
As a Diagnostic Account Manager, you will be the trusted diagnostic partner for veterinary practices, laboratory research, and veterinary academic settings within your territory. You will provide on-site support to existing Zoetis VetScan customers and be responsible for the overall business performance, customer satisfaction, and growth of your accounts.
Your primary focus will be to support customers across the full lifecycle of Zoetis diagnostic solutions—from installation and onboarding through to optimisation, workflow improvement, utilisation growth, and troubleshooting. You will also identify opportunities for new equipment sales, consumables, and expanded solutions within existing accounts.
This role requires someone who thrives in the field, enjoys autonomy, and is motivated by building long-term, mutually beneficial customer partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
Territory & Account Planning

Maintain a high level of expertise across the Zoetis diagnostics portfolio, including products, services, pricing, market trends, and competition

Develop and execute robust account plans in collaboration with Account Managers, Corporate Key Account Managers, Area Business Managers, ZVCs, Diagnostics Sales Specialists, and Training Managers

Identify, analyse, and track individual account performance, supporting clinics to improve workflow, efficiency, utilisation, and customer experience

Align activity to marketing programmes and management direction, following the Solution Selling approach

Analyse territory sales data and growth opportunities to support delivery of sales targets

Maintain accurate CRM records, including customer data, call reports, and opportunities

Monitor and interpret Power BI data relating to Dx.com usage, ordering, and contracts

Collaborate cross-functionally with other Zoetis business units to maximise shared customer opportunities
Customer Relationships & Commercial Growth

Build long-term, high-quality partnerships based on trust, expertise, and value

Deliver bespoke customer solutions using the full Zoetis ecosystem: products, value-added services, ZVCs, and specialist colleagues

Identify and progress opportunities for additional analysers, consumables, and referrals within existing accounts

Log opportunities accurately in Salesforce.com and manage analyser orders via CPQ in partnership with ABMs and Customer Services

Share best practices and contribute ideas that drive team success

Work closely with Technical Support (L1 & L2) to support and escalate troubleshooting when required

Maintain regular communication with Customer Services on orders, deliveries, Hybris, and WebShop usage
In-Field Activity & Technical Support

Deliver agreed call activity and customer coverage in line with KPIs

Provide on-site technical support where issues cannot be resolved remotely, including troubleshooting complex system problems

Conduct basic analyser maintenance, software updates, PMS connectivity support, and user training

Deliver formal and informal training sessions including lunch & learns, clinical clubs, and presentations

Develop in-practice diagnostic champions to embed expertise and adoption

Lead post-sale installations, validation, onboarding, and applications training
-
Ensure all relevant practice staff are trained and signed off for confident equipment use; retrain new starters within 8 weeks

Set clear objectives for every customer interaction and ensure timely follow-up
Compliance & Governance

Uphold the highest standards of compliance and business conduct, including Pharmacovigilance, Global Vet Policy, Zoetis Values, and local codes of practice

Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with all key stakeholders

Experience & Qualifications
You will come from one or more of the following backgrounds:
-
Veterinarian, qualified Veterinary Nurse, or Technician
-
Medical or veterinary field sales (veterinary preferred)
-
Animal health or related scientific industry
-
Customer-facing commercial or technical role
Essential:
-
Relevant technical / clinical experience within veterinary, medical, or scientific sectors

Experience delivering training or coaching to individuals and groups
-
Sales qualification (e.g. NOAH, AMTRA)

Full UK driving licence and valid passport
-
Strong IT literacy and confidence with business systems
Travel Requirement

100% field-based role requiring extensive travel across the designated territory
