POSITION SUMMARY |
|
The Site Security Officer leads the site’s security program and guard force operations end to end—people, systems, and procedures—to protect our people, information, and assets while enabling compliant, uninterrupted operations. The role owns the control room/monitoring function, governs contracted security partners via KPIs/SLAs, and applies Enterprise Security Risk Management (ESRM) to align security decisions with site objectives. The SSO partners closely with Facilities, EHS, Quality/GMP, IT/OT, HR, and local emergency services to maintain a strong security culture.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES |
|
Own and periodically update the site security strategy, policies, post orders, and SOPs, aligned to ESRM principles, Zoetis Global Security standards, and other industry standards.
Lead and coach the on‑site security team. Set and enforce vendor KPIs/SLAs, conduct unannounced post inspections, monthly performance reviews, and invoice/roster audits; drive corrective action plans.
Own the Site Security Control Center and electronic security systems (PACS, CCTV, intrusion/alarm). Ensure operator training, shift handover discipline, alarm/playbook adherence, incident logging quality, evidence handling, uptime and maintenance, and system health checks.
Maintain the site asset/risk register; perform regular risk, threat, and vulnerability assessments; run risk acceptance and treatment workflows with asset owners; report trends and residual risk to Site Leadership and Global Security.
Lead or coordinate investigations (theft, vandalism, misconduct, trespass, threats, suspicious activity, safety violations), ensuring SOPs for evidence preservation and chain of custody; produce timely, quality reports; liaise with HR, Legal, Global Security, and outside agencies as appropriate.
Support site crisis and emergency preparedness. Maintain and exercise emergency response SOPs, run table‑top exercises and after‑action reviews, track corrective actions to closure, own site procedures and utilization of global mass notification system and.
Own security OPEX/CAPEX budgets and multi‑year roadmaps; manage lifecycle for PACS/CCTV/perimeter technologies (spares, updates, service contracts) and guard contracts (scope changes, variations).
Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, policies, and procedures. Prepare for and support internal/external audits and customer/authority inspections.
Build strong partnerships with Site Leadership, Global Security, Facilities/Engineering, EHS, Quality, IT/OT, HR, Legal, local emergency services, and security vendors to enable safe, compliant, and efficient operations.
Work closely with Global Security to ensure site security is consistent with Zoetis Minimum Security Requirements and ensure all site construction projects incorporate relevant security considerations consistent with those MSRs. Develop and deliver a structured security awareness and training program in coordination with Global Security (inductions, refreshers, targeted training) for site personnel including visitors.
Develop and deliver scenario‑based drills for guards and internal responders, measuring competency and identifying areas for improvement. Maintain clear documentation: risk register, post orders, SOPs, system/as‑built drawings, incident logs and reports, vendor KPIs, dashboards, and AARs; publish monthly security metrics to leadership.
Lead the site Workplace Violence Prevention & Threat Management process in accordance with Zoetis Global Security expectations.
Integrate security by design into site projects (CPTED, security specs for fencing/lighting/PACS/CCTV/locks); conduct commissioning and acceptance testing; administer the site key/lock control program.
Coordinate asset protection and logistics security. |

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE |
|
Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Criminology, Risk/Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years in security management, preferably in industrial/manufacturing, R&D, logistics, or corporate settings with 2+ years leading people or vendors.
Experience with contracted guard services and electronic security systems.
Knowledge of operational security, risk management, and incident investigation.
Familiarity with Australian WHS obligations and site relevant Quality/GMP and biosafety requirements (e.g., TGA/APVMA aligned site controls as applicable). |
TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS |

Ability to collaborate with site leadership and Global Security to ensure consistent implementation of MSRs at the site.
Ability to manage confidential information and remain decisive under pressure.
Commitment to professional development; relevant certifications (CPP, APP, PSP; emergency/crisis management credentials) preferred. |
