Due to internal movement, we are looking for a Regional Sales Manager - Southern, Companion Animal, covering Victoria, Tasmania and ACT. Somone to lead and grow the Companion Animal business across the Southern region by driving sales execution, coaching a high-performing sales team, and building partnerships with veterinary clinics, distributors, and key accounts.
Who we are looking for:
Based in Melbourne and reporting directly to the National Sales Manager, the Regional Sales Manager – Southern will be responsible for leading and developing a team of Area Managers. This role focuses on elevating the customer experience across multiple therapeutic areas and channels, including veterinary clinics and pet specialty retail. Success in this role calls for a dynamic leader who thrives in contested categories with market leading products and a high-performing team.
We’re seeking an experienced sales leader who is ready for a new challenge and the opportunity to make a significant impact within the region. The ideal candidate brings strong people‑leadership capability, commercial acumen, and a demonstrated growth mindset, with the passion and drive to lead a talented team of companion animal sales professionals.
Overview of the Role:
- Lead, coach, and develop a diverse team of Companion Animal Area Managers and Senior Area Managers.
- Execute the marketing plan in partnership with your team, marketing colleagues, and customers to deliver a remarkable customer experience.
- Drive results across Veterinary Clinic and Pet Specialty Retail within budgeted operating expenditure, applying strong sales process and methodology.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and lifelong learning.
- Apply strong commercial acumen to manage budgets, forecasts, and business performance.
- Analyse market data to identify regional growth opportunities and inform team priorities.
- Build territory management capability, ensuring reach/frequency targets are met and customer experience is continuously improved across the Southern Region (Victoria, Tasmania and ACT).
- Make sound, data-informed decisions through rigorous analytical thinking.
- Travel Requirements: Ability to fulfil the travel expectations of the role, supporting consistent and effective in‑field presence across the region.
About You:
- An experienced sales or people leader.
- A proven enabler, developer, and motivator of people, delivering results through others.
- Demonstrated leadership and communication excellence; passionate about growing and developing talent.
- Experience leading multi-channel teams (Veterinary Clinic and Pet Specialty Retail).
- Proficiency with CRM systems, forecasting tools, and territory planning platforms.
- Advanced sales and negotiation skills.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications: science, animal health, or business preferred.
- Familiarity with pharmaceutical and or diagnostic portfolios.
