This is an exciting field-based opportunity for an experienced veterinary, scientific, or healthcare professional who combines technical expertise with commercial acumen. As a Diagnostic Account Manager, you will play a critical role in supporting veterinary practices, research laboratories, and academic institutions to maximise the value of our VetScan diagnostic solutions while driving business growth across your territory.
The Role
As a Diagnostic Account Manager, you will provide hands-on support to existing Zoetis VetScan customers, ensuring successful implementation, training, optimisation, and ongoing utilisation of our diagnostic products. You will be responsible for building long-term customer relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
Working closely with colleagues across sales, training, technical support, and key account management, you will help customers improve workflows, increase diagnostic utilisation, and achieve better clinical and business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Account Planning & Business Development
- Maintain expert knowledge of the Zoetis diagnostics portfolio, market trends, competitors, and industry developments.
- Develop and execute strategic account plans in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
- Analyse territory performance and identify opportunities to improve customer utilisation and sales growth.
- Support the delivery of territory sales targets and market share growth objectives.
- Maintain accurate customer records and activity reports through CRM systems.
Customer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong, long-term partnerships with veterinary practices and key stakeholders.
- Deliver tailored customer solutions using Zoetis products, services, and support resources.
- Identify opportunities for additional diagnostic equipment and consumable sales within existing accounts.
- Share best practice and contribute to the success of the wider diagnostics team.
Technical Support & Training
- Provide advanced onsite technical support for diagnostic systems and applications.
- Install, validate, and onboard new diagnostic equipment.
- Deliver product training, workshops, presentations, lunch-and-learn sessions, and clinical education events.
- Develop in-practice diagnostic champions who become key users and advocates of our solutions.
- Conduct analyser maintenance, software updates, and connectivity support where appropriate.
- Ensure all relevant practice staff are trained and competent in the use of diagnostic equipment.
Sales & Territory Management
- Deliver customer-facing activity in line with agreed KPIs and territory objectives.
- Identify and convert opportunities for additional product sales and increased diagnostic utilisation.
- Implement marketing campaigns and strategic initiatives aligned to customer needs.
- Ensure timely follow-up and effective execution of customer action plans.
Compliance & Governance
- Maintain the highest standards of business conduct and compliance.
- Adhere to Zoetis policies, Pharmacovigilance requirements, local industry codes, and company values.
- Manage customer support budgets responsibly and maintain accurate business records.

Qualifications & Experience
You will ideally have experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Veterinarian, Registered Veterinary Nurse, Veterinary Technician, or equivalent clinical background
- Medical or veterinary field sales representative
- Animal health, healthcare, or scientific industry professional
- Customer-facing technical support or training role
Essential Requirements
- Relevant technical, clinical, veterinary, medical, or scientific experience
- Understanding of veterinary practice operations and purchasing processes
- Experience delivering training, coaching, or education to groups and individuals
- Sales qualification (e.g. NOAH, AMTRA) desirable
- Full UK driving licence
- Valid passport
- Strong IT literacy and proficiency with business software applications

Travel Requirements
This is a highly field-based role, with approximately 80% of your time spent visiting customers across Scotland and the wider region.
