Role Purpose

The purpose of this role is to lead the Zoetis Tallaght site and focus on key role deliverables to ensure sustainable site management, by aligning to the site vision: Safety first, Quality always.

A pragmatic and motivational leader to deliver consistently high-quality products that meet our customer service levels, meeting the required Quality, Environmental and Safety compliance standards while successfully increasing site capacity through a series of efficiency improvements, operational excellence and CAPEX programs.

Role Responsibilities

In this fast-paced role, the Site Lead will lead and motivate the Site and support teams to ensure the efficient, effective and compliant production of sterile products to meet our market demands in line with market dynamics.

As a Leader you will connect across the shifts teams to ensure a smooth handover, proactively monitoring any problems and be aware of issues impacting the business or its people, encouraging personal ownership and providing practical support to meet your weekly, monthly and annual goals. In conjunction with the Site Leadership Team, you will develop the site capability to ensure there is a highly engaged workforce and establish effective relationships with peers and support functions within the business to drive performance and maintain our strong industry reputation and competitive edge.

From an operational perspective, you’ll balance your attention between effective day-to-day support and long-term strategic planning to optimise the use of resources, minimise waste, increase productivity and facilitate Continuous Improvement programmes. Working closely with all departments across the business, you’ll support your teams to address smaller day-to-day production challenges, through to planning long range operational and Capex projects to improve business performance and address future compliance requirements.

You will develop and embed a culture of continuous improvement across your teams, designed to drive innovation and evolve with our growing and changing production environment. Looking to the future, you’ll continually assess our equipment, facilities and processes to ensure they’re aligned to broader business objectives, fit for purpose and fulfil our compliance requirements. In addition, you will monitor and report on Site Key Performance Indicators to Leadership and manage OpEx and Capex budgets to demonstrate an effective return on investment.

  10. Reputation of the site and the Company in the local community

Candidate Requirements

Education & Experience

With a scientific academic background in a relevant subject and robust (15 years +) pharmaceutical manufacturing experience, the ideal candidate will bring strong sterile manufacturing knowledge and technical skills combined with demonstrated leadership ability, robust collaboration qualities and a sharp sense of business strategy.

Currently sitting in a senior industrial operations position in the Pharmaceutical / Healthcare industry and fully familiar with international Quality, Compliance and Regulatory standards, s/he will have a proven track-record of consistent delivery in a complex, global and matrixed environment. The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate an extensive understanding of sterile aseptic manufacturing and related compliance requirements for this role.

Displaying a high degree of independence and initiative, s/he will be self-motivated and resourceful, with proven experience in managing high-performing, dynamic teams to the highest standards of delivery while at the same time actively collaborating in a global network. Having worked in organisations that had a strong focus on efficiency and productivity, s/he will have a track-record of leading large-scale improvement initiatives with determination and a strong inclination towards operational excellence.

With a mature and wise personality, s/he will bring sufficient credibility and gravitas to the role in order to become a trusted leader. Used to working in a performance-driven company, s/he will be a broad leader who sees “the big picture”.
